I was born in Brazil, with German roots. As the child of a diplomat, I grew up moving between places, languages, and ways of seeing.
That experience shaped the questions I still bring to my work: how do we see one another, and what do we carry beneath the surface?
Photography and filmmaking have been part of my life for more than four decades. In Conhecido Diferente, I portrayed Brazilian celebrities as their idols—an exploration of identity through the people we admire.
I now live in Switzerland. My books extend that same curiosity inward, while photography and film continue alongside my writing.
